What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment has a unique ability to cross over different media and remain relatively stable through time. This has allowed for a seemingly unlimited potential for creative remix. This has ensured that familiar themes, images and structures have been continually reworked for new generations.

The word entertainment is derived from the Latin intertenere, which means to hold inside. It is the root of the Indo-European ten, which means to stretch, and the acronym TEN stands for Transformational Entertainment News.

Many forms of entertainment hit on points that the human brain was shaped to react deeply to in order to function in a social world. This includes backstabbing, murders and other social themes that are often portrayed in entertainment.
